Congratulations on your decision to adopt a pet! Not only will you be welcoming a dog or cat into a loving home, but you'll also be providing a space at an animal shelter for another pet to be rescued, as well! Shelter pets up for adoption are incredible buddies who have become the innocents of family catastrophe, unlucky change in circumstances, or irresponsible owners. The necessity for pet adoptions is multiplied by an excess of pets bred for profit, which leads to about 4 million adoptable dogs being put down annually due to overpopulation.

There are not enough homes for them all! Please spay or neuter your pets and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Choosing to have your pet spayed or neutered is so important for several reasons. The procedure, performed at a veterinarian’s office or spay/neuter clinic, helps pets stay healthier and happier. And, most importantly, the choice to spay or neuter your pet helps save the lives of homeless pets. It reduces the number of accidental litters being born, and that means fewer pets entering shelters where they might be at risk of being euthanized.
